YANCEY PRYOR BRITT 

   Yancy Pryor Britt, 74 years old, well-known farmer of Zuni community, died 
at his home Tuesday night after a lingering illness.  He was the son of the 
late John and Mrs. Caroline Herring Britt of Southampton County.  Mr. Britt 
is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Bowden Britt; five daughters, Mrs. P.E. 
Worrell, Mrs. Forrest Cobb, Miss Nannie Bell Britt and Miss Helen Britt of 
Zuni and Mrs. S.A. Councill of Ivor; one son, Roger P. Britt of Zuni; one 
sister, Mrs. B.H. Holland of Ivor, and three grandchildren.

   Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Tucker Swamp 
Baptist Church by Rev. R.H. Corbitt.  Interment following in the church 
cemetery.  Pallbearers were Percy Bradshaw, B.W. Eley, G.T. Harrison, J.P. 
Powell, J.F. Clarke, A.J. Faircloth, W.R. Fowler and Lonnie West.
