All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALMIRA POND BRADSHAW FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Mrs. Almira Pond Bradshaw was conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Black Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. C.L. Gatling and the Rev. Ernest Cornwell of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Burial was in the family cemetery. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin was in charge. The body was taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers were Linwood Bradshaw, Arthur Carr Sr., Charlie Bulls, J.R. Tomlin, Edgar Drewry, Eddie Bulls, Charlie Holland and A.H. Johnson. Mrs. Bradshaw, 81, died Sunday at 6 p.m. in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was the widow of Robert Lee Bradshaw and a daughter of the late George W. and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Joyner Pond. She was a life member of Black Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Vergie B. Wade, Mrs. Mary B. Whitley, and Mrs. Doris B. Turner of Franklin, Mrs. Gladys B. Gay, Mrs. Martha B. Bradshaw, and Mrs. Catherine B. Lowe of Ivor, and Mrs. Viola B. Clark of Zuni; four sons, George Bradshaw of Scottsville, Clinton Bradshaw of Virginia Beach, Reginald Bradshaw, and Augusta Bradshaw of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Ida Lowe of Sedley; 33 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.
