All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ DOROTHY DRAKE BRADSHAW Mrs. Dorothy Bradshaw, 71, of 303 Lee St., a native of Franklin and the widow of Samuel Bradshaw, died Monday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a retired school teacher for the Isle of Wight County Public School System, she was employed at Vaughan & Co. Bankers for a number of years, she was a member of the Franklin Christian Church, a graduate of the college of William and Mary, a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, she was a former secretary to the 4th District of the House of Delegates, she was a former secretary-treasurer to the American Legion Unit No. 73, she was a member of the Agnes Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy, she was a member of the Franklin Women’s Club, a member of Cyprus Cove Country Club, and a member of the Women’s Golf Association. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Louise Drake Soden of Rocky Mt., N.C. and Mrs. Wayland E. Major of Newport News, Va.; three brothers, Theodore R. Drake of Franklin, Va., James C. Drake of Sedley, Va., and Freddy F. Drake of Suffolk, Va., a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. John Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
