  VOLUNTARY DEATH BY A PISTOL. - Ernest Bradshaw, a young man who resided in 
Southampton county, near Courtland, this week, committed suicide by sending 
a pistol ball through his heart.  Driven to desperation and despondency 
because his love was unrequited life become a burden and was quietly liberated 
from his body through the agency of a revolver.  He became infatuated with the 
younger of two ladies on whose farm he lived and labored, and feared that the 
affection which could not be gained by him was being claimed by rivals.

I can't prove it, but he is possibly identical with the following: 

Ernest L. BRADSHAW, 
son of Odom & Mary Elizabeth (ROSE BRADSHAW OWENS) BRADSHAW, 
b. 1877, Isle of Wight Co.,

His parents had both been widowed twice.  His father died in 1881, 
   his mother in 1887.
