All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ELMER AMOS BRADSHAW Elmer Amos Bradshaw, 56, a well known dairy farmer of the Franklin community, died at his home on the Franklin-Courtland Boulevard on Friday night, February 8, after several years of ill health. A long-time resident of the community, he was the husband of Mrs. Lillie Cox Bradshaw and a son of Amos and Ophelia Daughtrey Bradshaw of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest G. Evans of Franklin and Mrs. Frank L. DeBord of Quincy, Fla., two sons, Elmer A. Bradshaw, Jr., and Burton C. Bradshaw, both of Franklin; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Paul Carr and Mrs. C.E. Bunn of Franklin and Mrs. C.E. Taylor of Portsmouth. A brother, W.M. ("Buddy") Bradshaw of Franklin died several years ago. Funeral services for Mr. Bradshaw were conducted at the late residence on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by his pastor, Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the active pallbearers being W.R. Atkins, R.C. Branch, Sr., Gardner T. Edwards, Wayland F. Jones, W.T. Pace, Jr., and George O. Watkins, all of Franklin, Dr. A.J. Sipos of Richmond and Cleveland Vincent of Woodland, N.C. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
