BRADSHAW Herman Marvin Bradshaw, 58, a native of Newsoms, died Saturday afternoon, March 16, at 4:30 o'clock , in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, after a long illness. He had moved to Portsmouth about 12 years ago and resided at 1911 Nashville Avenue. Mr. Bradshaw was the husband of Mrs. Eva Bryant Bradshaw of Portsmouth, and the son of the late George Washington and Mrs. Amorette Ferguson Bradshaw of Southampton County. He was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Wallace Bradshaw, Edward Bradshaw and Robert Bradshaw, all of Portsmouth; Joe Bradshaw, USAF, stationed in Labrador, and William Bradshaw, USAF, stationed in Tucson, Ariz; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Bradshaw Vogt of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Herman M. Smith of Capron; a brother, Roy U. Bradshaw of Newsoms; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Rev. L.F. Smith, pastor of Newsoms Baptist Church, and Rev. M.R. Becton, Pastor of Asbury Methodist Church, Portsmouth. Burial was in Newsoms cemetery. Active pallbearers were Hersey Bradshaw, Carl Bradshaw, Lonnie Porter, Beale Carter, Russell Ferguson, Jack Bunn, Henry Worrell and Quinton Ferguson.
