Hurley Bradshaw, 79, of Route 2, died Thursday at the Medical College of Virginia. A native of Southampton County, he was the widower of Florence Bryant Bradshaw. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Men's Bible Class, and of the choir. He was a retired farmer and auto salesman. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edith Marie Bradshaw; two sons Raymond H. Bradshaw, Jr. of Franklin, and Charles W. Bradshaw of Suffolk; one sister, Mrs. Flora Ballance of Lothian, MD., and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in W.J.M. Holland & Son funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr. and Rev. Larry Cribb. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will be at the home of R.H. (So.Co. MB18:224) His D.Cert. (75-026688) gives Rufus Hurley. Jr.'s name was indeed Raymond Hurley, but his m.rec. (1953 So.Co. #127) also gives his father as Rufus. Jr. is buried with his wife & her first husband in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland (Section I, Plot 22B).
