All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES JASPER BRADSHAW James Jasper Bradshaw of Norfolk, died Monday afternoon at 1:35 o’clock at his home as the result of a heart attack. He was 57 years old and had been secretary of the firm of Johns Bros., coal dealers, for the past 12 years, and had been associated with the concern for 20 years. He was a native of Southampton County, and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 25 years. Mr. Bradshaw was the son of the late James Madison and Mrs. Geneva Babb Bradshaw. Besides his wife, Mrs. Addie Cogsdale Bradshaw, he is survived by two daughters, Misses Bernice Estelle and Elizabeth Stuart Bradshaw of Norfolk; one brother, John C. Bradshaw of Franklin, and three sisters, Mrs. L.D. Clark of Washington, Mrs. C.T. Lupton of Denver and Miss Lizzie Bradshaw of Franklin. Mr. Bradshaw was a member of the board of deacons of the Christian Temple, and was affiliated with the following organizations: Owen Lodge No. 164, A.F. & A.M., John Walters Chapter No. 68, R.A.M., Grice Commandery No. 16, Knights of Templar, Khedive Temple, Mystic Shrine, and Junior Order United American Mechanics. Funeral services were held in Norfolk Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock with Rev. Dr. Jason Noble Pierce and interment was made in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
