PAUL HARVEY BRANTLEY

   Paul Harvey Brantley, 66*, of Route 2, Ivor, a Southampton County farmer, 
died, Monday morning in an automobile accident of U.S. 460 a mile west of 
Ivor.

   A native of Southampton County and a son of Luther H. and Mrs. Josie Holt 
Brantley, he was the husband of Mrs. Laura Riddick Brantley.

   Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Paul H. Brantley Jr. of Ivor; three 
brothers, T. Holt Brantley and L.A. Brantley Sr. of Ivor and S.A. Brantley Sr. 
of Wakefield; three sisters Mrs. E.T. Lane and Mrs. J.S. Bryant of Ivor and 
Mrs. A.F. Wills of Virginia Beach and three grandchildren.

   A funeral service was held in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, 
Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. R. Berkley Garnett and the Rev. Paul J. 
Forsythe.  Burial was in Ivor Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were J. Talmadge Edwards, L.E. Pettyjohn, Vernon Riddick, Homer 
S. Saunders, R.L. Goode, H.E. Corbitt Jr., C.D. Babb and Richard E. Railey.
