Holland & Sons Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were W.T. Pace Jr., Roy Edwards, Dr. Darden W. Jones, Junius W. Pulley Jr., Ferrell W. Powell, Edward Gilliam, Emmet M. Scott and H.S. Rawlings Sr. Brown, 78, died at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Monday, Nov. 14 after an illness of several weeks. A native of Winston, N.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Marian Howell Brown and the son of the late George Andrew, and Emma Riddick Brown. A retired employee of W.H. Scott Inc., he was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church, and a charter member of the Mens Bruner Bible Class. He was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of the American Legion Post No. 73, and one of the oldest members of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 151. Surviving besides his wife, is one daughters, Mrs. Jacquelyn Brown Meoni of Richmond; three sisters Mrs. J. Carlyle Stephens of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Dan P. Boyette Sr., of Ahoskie, N.C., and Mrs. David Parker of Winston, N.C. and five grandchildren. George Robert BROWN, retired employee of W.H.
