Survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Dowdy Barham; two daughters, Mrs. Cynthia Lynn and Joanne Elizabeth Barham; one son, Joseph D. Barham; mother, Mrs. Mable Nelson Barham of Capron. Graveside services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Capron Cemetery with Masonic Rites. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Capron Volunteer Fire Department, or the Cancer Research Fund. ****************************************************************************** JOE NELSON BARHAM CAPRON - Graveside services and Masonic rites were held Wednesday morning at Capron Cemetery for Joe Nelson Barham, 36, who died Monday in a Richmond Hospital. He was the son of the late Dashland Daniel Barham, Jr. and Mrs. Mabel Nelson Barham. He attended Ferrum Junior College and served in the U.S. Navy, an active member of Capron Methodist Church, Mr. Barham was also a member of the Courtland Masonic Lodge and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Barham was an active member of the Capron Volunteer Fire Department and past president of Capron Ruritan Club. He served as an assistant scoutmaster of Capron Boy Scouts of America. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Mrs. Shirley Dowdy Barham; two daughters, Cynthia Lynn and Joanne Elizabeth; and his son, Joseph Daniel Barham.
