Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. C.L. Gatlin of Black Creek Baptist Church. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park*, Franklin. Pallbearers were Robert Gray, Roy Brooks, Billy Wade, Frank Hyner, George (Top) Hedgepeth, Moody Mumford [sic; Munford], Fenton Bryant and R.W. Bailey. Brown, 55, died Friday afternoon in a hospital. A native of Southampton County*, he was a son of B.B. and Mrs. Lizzie Johnson Brown and the husband of Mrs. Mary Turner Brown. He was a member of Sedley Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Army S.Sgt. Thomas Edward Brown Jr. of Hawaii; five sisters, Mrs. Luna Wells of Petersburg, Mrs. Vera Crumpler and Mrs. Elizabeth Chappel of Windsor, and Mrs. Alease Warren and Mrs. Rose Warren of Smithfield; and two brothers, Skidler Brown of Sedley and Quincey Brown of Smithfield. ****************************************************************************** Southampton Native Died Friday; Buried in Franklin Cemetery Thomas Edward Brown, 55, of Sedley, died Friday, November 23, in a hospital. Thomas Edward Brown, Jr. of Hawaii; five sisters, Mrs. Luna Wells of Colonial Heights, Mrs. Vera Crumpler and Mrs. Elizabeth Chapman of Windsor, and Mrs. Alease Warren and Mrs. Rose Warren of Smithfield; and two brothers, Skidler Brown of Sedley and Quincy Brown of Smithfield; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. in the W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home by Rev. Claud Gatling. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park Cemetery*, Franklin.
