Sidney Cowles. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Robert Franklin and Mrs. Maggie Joyner Branch. He was a farmer. He was a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church. Besides his parents he is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Joyner of Franklin, Mrs. L.P. Parsons of Wakefield, Mrs. H.L. Joyner Jr. of Suffolk, Mrs. R.L. Harrup Sr. of Sedley, Mrs. A.H. Wills of Windsor, and one brother, Robert W. Branch of Franklin.
