Barnes, aged 88, well-known resident of the Berlin-Ivor community, died last night at his home near Dory. He was the son of the late Johnson Barnes and Mrs. Ava Bradshaw Barnes, of Southampton. On February 6, 1878, he married Miss Elizabeth Alice Butler, who died in 1931. Mr. Barnes was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, L.F. Barnes, of Hutchinson, Kan., and Alex Gurley Barnes, of Sedley; and two daughters, Mrs. R.H. Hones, of Dendron, and Mrs. Pattie Hones, of Sedley. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the grave in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
