All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CRAFFORD CLAUDE BRANCH Funeral services for Claude Branch, aged 60, who died in Williamsburg on July 20 were held at the family residence in Ivor on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. George Kissinger of Norfolk, assisted by Dr. I.W. Johnson of Suffolk. Mr. Branch was a lifelong resident of Ivor until a few years before his death. He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church there, and a friend to all who knew him. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Sally Lane Branch, and is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J.L. Swingle of Petersburg, Mrs. W.H. Drewry of Franklin, and Miss Lillian Branch of Ivor; two brothers, H.E. and Shelly Branch, also of Ivor. A floral design of pink roses and gladioli covered the casket. The hymns "Face to Face," "Saved by Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Miss Mildred Varner, Mrs. Hazel Carr, Leslie Rawlings and G.C. Niblett, accompanied by Mrs. D.H. Pulley. Pallbearers were W.C. Rawls, W.P. Johnson, R.H. Pulley, L.T. Saunders, N.S. Boykins and John Earl Bailey. Interment was in the family plot in Ivor Cemetery.
