Fir Ave. Wednesday afternoon after a short illness. A native of Franklin, she lived here 28 years. She was a charter member of the Thalia Methodist Church. She was the widow of Edward Leroy Brinkley and a daughter of Warren Wilson and Mrs. Mary Simmons Harcum. Surviving are a son, James W. Brinkley, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Harcum Ratley and Mrs. Bertha Kellenberger, all of Virginia Beach; three brothers, I. Herbert Harcum of Portsmouth and A. Lloyd Harcum and Russell G. Harcum of Norfolk; a half sister, Mrs. Cora Parker Davidson of Suffolk; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Simile Funeral Home by the Rev. William Asher of Thalia Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth. Daisy Dean (HARCUM; Mrs. Edward L.)
