Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ryland Brinkley, Clarence Brinkley, Robert Brinkley, Willie Knight, F.L. Daughtrey, Elliott Daughtery, E.R. Harton, Joe Henry Gardner. Brinkley, 86, died Thursday night in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Nansemond county, he was a son of Frederick and Mrs. Ida Knight and the husband of Mrs. Sudie Powell Brinkley. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Bruner Bible Class and a member of the church choir 60 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Irvin of Mobile, Ala.; and a brother, Carlton Brinkley of Suffolk.
