He was the husband of Mrs. Hattie Raiford Branch and son of the late Patrick Henry and Mrs. Margaret Bulls Branch of Southampton County. He was a member of Millfield Baptist and its Men’s Bible Class. Besides his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Katherine B. Beale, five sons Lonnie Fenton Branch of Hampton, Philip Crabor Branch of Newport News ['Wallace W. Branch and Rogers Branch' omitted] and Joseph Mayton Branch of Richmond, a sister Mrs. Lillian B. Beale of Zuni, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin Sunday afternoon by Rev. J.L. McTeer of Millfield Baptist Church and C.E. Rigby of Corinth Friends Meeting. Rev. James A. Coney, a former pastor of Corinth meeting sang a solo. Active pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Branch, Paul Branch, Harold Branch, Lewis Carr Beale, Johnnie Beale, Earl Branch and John C. Raiford. Honorary pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Branch, Larry Stephenson, Buck Scott, Walter Raiford, George Philip Raiford, Leroy Carroll, Elton Raiford and friends of the family. Interment was in the Ivor cemetery.
