A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Whitley Branch and a son of Alex and Mrs. Susan Bradshaw Branch. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and Knights of Pythias Lodge 51. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elmo Eason, and a brother Robert C. Branch, both of Franklin; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
