JOHN ELMORE BRANCHE

JOHN E. BRANCHE BURIED IN ROSEMONT CEMETERY

   SEDLEY - Funeral services for John Elmore Branche were held today 
(Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. at the Holland Funeral Chapel, Franklin, by the Rev. 
Robert Welch, former pastor of Black Creek Church, and the Rev. J.A. Coney, 
former pastor of Sedley Meeting House.  Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Elton McClenny, William Wade, Marvin Whitley, David 
Whitley, J.C. Taylor, Marvin Simms, Howard Hancock and G.T Hundley.

   Branche, 50, widely known farmer of the Sedley community died in a Franklin 
hospital Tuesday night after a short illness.

   He was the husband of Mrs. Lottie Bulls Branch of Sedley and a son of Mrs. 
Fannie Raiford Branche and the late Patrick Henry Branche of Ivor.  He was a 
member of Corinth Friends Meeting House.

   Besides his wife and mother, surviving are four sons, Patrick Elmore, 
Winston Gilbert Branche, Bobby Elwood Branche and John Edward Branche of 
Sedley; five daughters, Mrs. John Wade and Misses Juanita Branche, Phyllis D. 
Branche, Carolyn L. Branche and Margaret Anne Branche of Sedley; two brothers, 
Junius Branche and Paul Branche of Ivor, and four sisters*, Miss Julia Branche 
of Ivor, Mrs. Ruth Duncan of Smithfield and Mrs. Samuel Sherard of Suffolk.

*Original text of obituary omitted sister Sadie Christine (1906-1990). 
 Mrs. Samuel Sherard is their sister Mary.
