RICHARD HENRY BARNES SR.

   FRANKLIN - Franklin services for Richard Henry (Sam) Barnes Sr., 82, were 
held Tuesday in I.O. Hill & Son Funeral Home by the Dr. R.E. Brittle.  Burial 
was in Bethlehem Christian Church cemetery.

   Barnes died Saturday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   He was a native of Greensville County and the husband of the late Gwendolyn 
Barry Barnes.

   Survivors include two daughters, Bessie Reynolds of Boone, N.C. and Mary 
Lee Warren of Suffolk; a son, Richard Henry Barnes Jr. of Franklin; a sister, 
Amber Bennett of Forksville; and four grandchildren.
