ROBERT HERMAN BARNES

   IVOR - A funeral service for Robert Herman Barnes was conducted Sunday at 
2:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Kafer Morleya 
and the Rev. J.T. Mashburn.  Burial was in Ivor Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Elton L. Stephenson, Wilroy Stephenson, Walter H. Raiford, 
Elton Raiford, Robert A. Souli, John T. Faircloth Jr., Paul Branch, and Walter 
Neave.

   Barnes, 67, died Thursday in his home.

   A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Joseph H. and Mrs. 
Josephine Johnson Barnes and the husband of Mrs. Nellie Lowe Barnes.

   He was an elder of Corinth Friends Meeting and a retired farmer.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph H. Barnes of Ivor; two 
daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Pulley of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mrs. Ronald W. Parks 
of Greensboro, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.

Herman and his sister Bonnie Mae were adopted my his paternal aunt and 
   her husband, John Tyler and Louisa J. (BARNES) RAIFORD. 
   They are buried in a RAIFORD family cemetery, on Seacock Chapel Rd.
