A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Nicholas V. and Mrs. Sarah Lane Branch and a member of Ivor Baptist Church. He is survived by a brother, Herbert E. Branch of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. J.L. Swingle and Miss Lillian Branch, both of Ivor, and Mrs. William H. Drewry, Sr., of Franklin. A funeral service was conducted Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield by the Rev. Bryant W. Holloman. Burial was in Ivor Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Rawls, Homer Saunders, Hermer Faircloth, David Lankford, Ernest Pittman, Elliott Bryant, Jr., Edward Branch and William Drewry.
