Branch of Boykins died Friday night, January 2, in Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, after a short illness. He was in his 74th year. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nannie J. Branch, and two children by a former marriage, Shelton Branch of Portsmouth and Mrs. M.E. Dennis of Leesburg, Fla. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Mr. Branch had been a resident of Boykins for 45 years, and was well known by everyone there. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock in the Boykins Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The services were conducted by Rev. N.B. Habel, pastor of the deceased, and music was furnished by members of the choir. Miss Jacqueline Dennis, granddaughter of Mr. Branch, sang "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" as a solo. Pallbearers were friends of the family, and interment was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
