All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ VIRGIE CARR BRANCH Shortly before going to press yesterday we learned of the death Thursday morning about 10:30 o’clock of Mrs. Virgie Carr Branch of Franklin. Mrs. Branch had been a patient in Raiford Memorial Hospital for several days prior to her death. She was 53 years of age. The daughter of the late N.L. Carr and Mrs. Bessie Lewis Carr of Franklin, she was the wife of R.C. Branch. She was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of its Women’s Missionary Society. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, R.C. Branch, Jr., and Dr. Lemuel A. Branch of Franklin; three grandchildren; a brother, E. Roy Carr of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Branch will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, with Revs. Randolph L. Gregory and R.D. Stephenson officiating. The body will be placed in the church an hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
