WILLIAM THADDEUS BRANCH*

   Funeral services for William Thaddeus Branch, age 78 years, son of the late 
William and Sallie Lane Branch, and a prominent farmer of the Ivor community 
who died at his home Friday evening, August 14th, were conducted Sunday 
afternoon, August 16th, at 3:00 o’clock from the home. Rev. R.N. Jacobs, 
pastor of Millfield Baptist Church, of which Mr. Branch was a member, assisted 
by Rev. Jon. H. Garber of Hampton, officiated.

   A male quartet composed of A.R. Gardner, E. Jerome Raiford, Robert Steward 
and Rev. R.N. Jacobs sang "Sometime We’ll Understand" and a solo "The 
Christian’s Goodnight" was sung by E. Jerome Raiford.

   Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Misses Ethel and Sallie 
Mary Branch of Ivor and three sons, Oscar Branch of Ivor, Will and Thad Branch 
of Norfolk.

   Active pallbearers were A. B. Clayton, E.H. Stephenson, Hunter Branch, L.H. 
Booth, Claude Whitmore, T.O. Camp, B.H. Lane and Hugh Williams.  Friends of 
the family acted as honorary pallbearers and burial was made in the Millfield 
Cemetery.
