She was the daughter of the late William and Mrs. Margaret Bryant and the second wife of the late Albert D. Bryant of the Newsoms community who preceded her in death seventeen years ago. Since that time she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. N. Lee Story, but spent much time visiting friends and relatives in Eastern Virginia and North Carolina. Funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Story, July 2 by her Pastor, Rev. R.H. Marks, and interment was made in the Newsoms Cemetery. The following nephews acted as pallbearers; Glennan, Laury and James Story, James Simmons, Frank Pope, and Dillard Riddick, Jr. She was one of the large family of brother and sisters, four of whom survive. Mrs. Georgia Moore of Suffolk, Mrs. Lucy Ashburn of Hampton, Mrs. J. Dillard Riddick of Como and Mrs. N. Lee Story of Newsoms. Other surviving relatives include her step-children, S.L., T.E. and J.S. Bryant, Mrs. Annie Ferguson, Misses Addie and Alpha Bryant, all of Newsoms. These with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, mourn the loss of one so much beloved by relatives and friends. The numerous and beautiful floral tributes in a measure attested her worth. Truly a good woman has gone to her reward and of her it can be truly said, "She went about doing good."
