ALPHA OMEGA BRYANT 

   Miss Alpha Omega Bryant, 73, a well-known  and beloved resident of the 
Newsoms community, died at the home in Suffolk of her niece, Mrs. Elsie Bryant 
Harrell, this (Thursday) morning after an illness of several months’ duration.

   The deceased was the daughter of the late Albert D. and Lydia Whitfield 
Bryant of Southampton County.  A member Mt. Horeb Methodist Church, she took 
part in all of its activities until her health failed.

   Surviving are four nieces, Mrs. Elsie Mae Harrell of Suffolk, Mrs. Pearl 
Smith of Norfolk, Mrs. Virginia Beale of Branchville, and Mrs. Mildred Smith 
of Blacksburg; six nephews, J. Sterling Bryant, James T. Bryant, Leslie 
Bryant, Raymond Bryant and James Ferguson, all of Newsoms, and W.R. Bryant of 
Portsmouth; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

   The body was brought to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland & Sons.  At noon 
on Saturday it will be taken to Mt. Horeb Methodist Church, where funeral 
services will be conducted at 2:30 o’clock by the pastor, Rev. O.L. Gochenour, 
and Rev. M.H. Elliott, pastor of Oxford Methodist Church, Suffolk.

   Burial will be in the Newsoms cemetery.
