All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BENJAMIN FRANKLIN BRYANT Benjamin Franklin Bryant, age 85 years, died at his home in the Newsoms community Saturday, December 9, after a brief illness although he had been in poor health about two years. He was a consistent member of Whiteheads Methodist Church, a good neighbor, husband and father. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Malissa F. Bryant; three daughters, Mrs. W.H. Baugham of the Capron community, Mrs. P.E. Knight of Courtland and Miss Eunice Bryant of Newsoms; two sons, Howard Bryant of Courtland and Herbert Bryant of Carrsville; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Interment was made Sunday afternoon in the family cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by his Pastor, Rev. R.H. Marks and the Rev. A.W. Coates of the Capron Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Linwood Howell, Felix Bryant, Jimmie Coake, Herman Bradshaw, Elliott Russell, J.R. Story, Julian Dickens and Wallace Nurney.
