Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Harold Lewis, assisted by the Rev. William T. Joyner. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Marvin H. Bryant, William T. Bryant, Ulysses P. Joyner, David I. Joyner, Harvey F. Bryant Jr., Curtis P. Bryant, E. Wayne Sykes and Kenneth B. Sykes. Mrs. Bryant, 80, Rt. 1, Courtland, died Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the U.S. Naval Hospital, Portsmouth. A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of William Alfred Bryant and the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Mrs. Martha Babb Kitchen. She was a member of the Courtland Baptist Church. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, LCDR Marvin H. Bryant, USN Ret., Williamsburg; LCDR Harvey F. Bryant, USN Ret., Virginia Beach and Robert A. Bryant; three daughters Mrs. Gertrude B. Joyner, Franklin; Mrs. E.R. Sykes, Portsmouth; Mrs. John V. Sheldon, Dillsbury, Pa., one brother, Rev. J.D. Kitchen Jr., Blackstone; three sisters, Mrs. Charles S. Hudson Sr., Richmond; Mrs. J.E. Parker, Emporia and Mrs. E.C. Rodkey, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Bessie Thomas (KITCHEN; Mrs. William A.)
