Everett Russell Bryant, Jr., 59, died Friday night in a Richmond hospital after a long illness. A native of Boykins, he was the manager of the inventory department of Union Bag Camp Paper Corp. He was a son of Everett Russell and Mrs. Adona Colonna Bryant and the husband of Mrs. Mary Lee Williams Bryant. He was a member of High Street Methodist Church. He was a teacher in the public schools of Middlesex and Charlotte Counties many years and graduate of the University of Richmond, Duke University, and the University of Virginia. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John Everett Bryant of Franklin. A funeral service was conducted in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Gilliam C. Bentley of High Street Methodist Church and the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. The family requested that flowers be omitted. Pallbearers were: T. Hayes Holland, W.H. Goodwin, Edward Colonna, R.H. Powell, Jr., Carlton Cutchins, Joe B. Gay, Jr. and James R. Duck.
