BRYANT FRANKLIN - Ernest Marvin Bryant, 67, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday afternoon at his home on Bogart avenue. He was the husband of Mrs. Lucy Davis Bryant and the son of the late William E. and Mrs. Willie Brett Bryant of Hertford County, N.C. Mr. Bryant was a native of Hertford County, and had lived in Franklin for the past 35 years. At the time of his retirement two years ago he was superintendent of the Franklin district for the Home Beneficial Assn. of Richmond. He was a member of High Street Methodist Church, and a member and treasurer of Masonic Lodge 151, where he had served as past master for two terms. He was also a member and past patron of Eastern Star Chapter 128. Surviving, besides his wife, are son, Marvin Lee Bryant of Hampton; two grandchildren; two brothers, John E. Bryant of Courtland and O.P. Bryant of Hampton and four sisters, Mrs. J.V. Simmons and Mrs. S.R. Simmons, both of Newsoms, Mrs. Mary B. Railey of Como, N.C. and Mrs. L.E. Zehrbach of Hampton. A funeral service will be held at W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. G.C. Bentley, pastor of High Street Methodist Church. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfred Williams, W.R Atkinson, Harry Jones, Ben Skinner, Sam Mitchell, Simpson Porter, Robert J. Long and William Bryant.
