His friends rushed to his assistance and cared for him until about 7 o’clock that evening, when he was removed to his home and his family physician summoned, who remained with his all night, but yesterday, about 6 o’clock a.m., his soul left this world and entered into the great beyond. A good man is gone. Peace to his memory. George Thomas BRYANT, farmer, Southampton Co. native, d. 1 Oct 1900, at home*, interred in Riverside Cemetery (Episcopal Section, Plot 5**), Courtland, "The Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Oct. 2, 1900, p. 2 **Southampton County Historical Society, Cemetery Project, Riverside list: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/southampton/cemeteries/riverside.txt Additional information: *It is curious that the text suggests George was a Nansemond Co. citizen.
