The burial was in the family cemetery near Joyner. Mrs. Bryant was the wife of the late W.L.* Bryant and was in her seventieth year. She leaves one son, W.L. Bryant, and two daughters, Mrs. Underwood and Mrs. A.J.* Bryant. Georgianna (STORY; Mrs. William M.) BRYANT, b. 1854, Southampton Co., d. 19 Jun 1923, at daughter's home, near Courtland, interred in the family cemetery*, near Joyner, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), July 6, 1955, p. 3 *Additional information: Burial site not known (Oct 2017) to the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project. Her son's 1924 m.rec. (So.Co. MB20:14) & daughter Emily UNDERWOOD's D.Cert. (1948 #12262 {Franklin #42}) both indicate their father's middle initial was M., not L. No middle initial is given in the 1880 or 1900 Census, nor in his m.rec. (MB5:259). Georgianna was widowed by the 1910 Census. However, her daughter Annie L. BRYANT's 1975 NC D.Cert. #40623 gives William Lee; the informant was Annie's daughter Audrey (BRYANT) RICKS. Georgianna was the daughter of George Story & Polly Simmons, m.lic. 20 Feb 1854 (MB1:11). Her son "Billie" was the informant for Georgianna's D.Cert., #16695. He is buried in Mt. Horeb Methodist Church Cemetery.
