Holt Brantley, 82, a retired farmer and a native of Southampton County, died Tuesday in his home at Elm Wood [sic; Elmwood] Farm. Brantley was a member of Ivor United Methodist Church. He had been a member of Ivor Masonic Lodge 291 since 1925. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Hazelette Brantley; a son, Robert J. Owens of Ivor; three sisters, Mildred B. Lane and Dorothy B. Bryant, both of Ivor, and Madeline B. Wills of Virginia Beach; a brother, L.A. Brantley of Ivor; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Revs. E. Lee Chattin and Lewis Harris. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
