JULIA A. BRYANT Mrs. Julia Antionette Bryant, 85, a well-known resident of the Handsom community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 10, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bryant was the widow of Rosser Benjamin Bryant, Sr., and daughter of the late Richard Alexander and Mrs. Martha Everett Barrett. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church and past president of its WSCS. Surviving are two sons, Rosser B. Bryant, Jr., of Handsom and Rev. Richard Orman Bryant, D.D. of Portsmouth; three grandchildren; and a brother, Hugh A. Barrett of Newsoms. Dr. Bryant is superintendent of the Portsmouth district of the Virginia Methodist Conference. Funeral services for Mrs. Bryant were conducted at New Hope Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. O.L. Gochenour, pastor of the church, and Rev. James W. Turner, pastor of High Street Methodist church, Franklin. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Barrett, Everett Barrett, Hugh Barrett, Ralph Barrett, R.E. Barrett, Rufus Darden, Dillard Riddick and V.D. Thorpe. Julia Antionette "Nettie" (BARRETT; Mrs. Rosser B.
