BRYANT BOYKINS - Mrs. Katie Vick Bryant, 87, died in her home Tuesday at 10 a.m. after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was the widow of Joe Bryant. She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, William Vick of Boykins and Randolph Vick of Richmond; five daughters, Mrs. Grace Fuller and Mrs. Sophie Overby of Richmond, Mrs. Cinderella Billups of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Betty Sue Edwards and Mrs. Louise Francis of Boykins: two stepsons, Herbert Vick of Handsom and A.D. Vick of Drewryville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. in McDowell Funeral Home by the Rev. Ben B. Ussery and the Rev. Daniel M. Spell.
