All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LEWIS CLINTON BRYANT Lewis Clinton Bryant, 61 years old, son of the late Benjamin Louis Bryant and Rosa Vick Bryant of the Capron community, died Saturday afternoon, October 4, after a lingering illness at the home of a sister, Mrs. T.J. Joyner. He survived by three other sisters, Mrs. A.M. Howell of Sedley, Mrs. Annie Cobb of Petersburg and Mrs. Emmett Everett of Emporia, and by four brothers, Eugene and Hinton Bryant of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and Leslie and Harry Bryant of Portsmouth, also a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at the residence of Mrs. Joyner by the Rev. C.V. Morris of Capron Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The music was rendered by the church choir, which sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Burial took place in the Capron Cemetery. Pallbearers were W.H. Story, J.H. Joyner, David Johnson, W.E. Joyner, Dallas Johnson and Jack Jenkins. The casket was covered with a spray of lilies and there were many other lovely floral offerings. Bryant. His own Death Certificate, #25261, gives her name as Rosa Olive Vick [Bryant].
