Bryant in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, Wednesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Harold Fuss. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Gillette Bryant, Leroy Bryant, Robert Barnes, Roy Whitehead, Cecil Gillette, Walter White Cobb, Harwood Babb and Milton Futrell. Bryant, 78, a native of Southampton County, died Monday at 2:30 p.m. in a Norfolk nursing home. He was the husband of Mrs. Fannie Eugenia Williams and a son of George Thomas and Mrs. Mary Alice Eley Bryant. He was a retired farmer and member of Courtland Methodist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Willard L. Johnson of Burlington, N.C.; eight sons, G. Russell Bryant of Norfolk, Wesley T. Bryant of Hampton, Allen G. Bryant of Chesapeake, M.R. Bryant Jr. of Courtland, William R. Bryant of Baltimore, Lt. Col. Herbert L. Bryant of Columbia, S.C., J. Clayton Bryant of Richmond and Melvin W. Bryant of Toano.
