BRYANT FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Ruth Hufton Bryant, 69, of Route 3, died in Southampton Memorial Hospital Sunday at 6:30 p.m. A native of North Carolina, she lived in this area 40 years. She was the wife of Roy Marvin Bryant and a daughter of George Hufton and Mrs. Missouri Biggs Hufton. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Besides her husband, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Davie of Chesapeake; four sons, L.A. Bryant of Norfolk, Garland Bryant of Courtland, and Truman Bryant of Franklin and Clayton Bryant of Guam; a brother, Woodrow Hufton of Chesapeake; three sisters, Mrs. Mahala McCoy and Miss Debbie Hufton of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Lydia Epps of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. The body was taken to W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home. The family will be with a son, Truman Bryant of 417 Crescent Drive, Franklin. ****************************************************************************** MARJORIE RUTH HUFTON BRYANT A funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Hufton Bryant, 69, of Rt. 3, Franklin, was held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Dr. Ira Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Ellis, Rudolph Newsoms, James Rogers, Spencer Smith, Sam Powell, Joe Stewart, S.A. Carr and Cecil Porter. A native of North Carolina, she lived in this area 40 years. She was the wife of Roy Marvin Bryant and a daughter of George and Mrs. Missouri Biggs Hufton.
