BRYANT FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Bryant, 85, was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Revs. Ira D. Hudgins and Edmund Ellis. Wright Funeral Home had charge. Pallbearers were: Robert S. Story, Edward Story, Gerald Williams, Shep C. Bell, Jr., William Bryant, William Snead, Howard Taylor, and T.P. Brooks. Mrs. Bryant died Sunday in Roanoke Valley Nursing Home, Rich Square, N.C. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of John E. Bryant and the daughter of the late Robert B. and Katie Wranek Story. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church and a former member of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dr. John Edward Bryant Jr. of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Alfred G. Williams, also of Franklin; a brother, Robert B. Story, Jr. of Courtland; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations my made to the Blackwater Mission project through Courtland Baptist or Franklin Baptist Churches. Mary C. (STORY; Mrs. John E.)
