All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARJORIE ESTELLE BRYANT BOYKINS - Miss Marjorie Estelle Bryant, 68, a retired school-teacher, died in a Petersburg nursing home Thursday at 2 p.m. after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of William C. and Mrs. Ann Bailey Bryant. She taught 45 years in Southampton and Greensville elementary schools. She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church and taught its Men’s Bible Class many years. She also was a member of Southampton County Teachers Association and Virginia Educational Association. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. A.T. Beale of Branchville, Mrs. Eager DeLoatche of Boykins, and Mrs. S.E. Porter of Handsom. A funeral service was conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in McDowell Funeral Home by the Rev. Ben B. Ussery. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery. The family met at the funeral home Friday night. Pallbearers were Henry Fuller, Earl Bryant, J. M. Powell, Edward Trice, Will H. Story and J.W. Pope.
