Brantley, died at her home near Story last Saturday. Mrs. Brantley who was 41 years old, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Holcombe of the same community. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by one daughter, Miss Marjorie Brantley; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Edwards of the Franklin community, and Miss Lena Holcombe; two brothers, C.J. Holcombe of Courtland, and S.V. Holcombe of Baltimore. Mrs. Brantley has been a faithful member of Nottoway Chapel since girlhood. Funeral services were held at the church Sunday afternoon conducted by her Pastor, Rev. H.F. Turner. "When They Ring the Golden Bells," " Rock of Ages" and "Shall We Gather at the River" were sung by the church choir. Interment was made in the family cemetery at the Holcombe home. Pallbearers were: Edwin D. Priggen, C.W. Burgess, Joseph Edwards, R.H. Joyner, Asa Joyner, Robert Branch and V.C. Lankford. A number of young women acted as flower bearers.
