Bryant, died Saturday, February 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.J. Joyner, of Capron, after an illness of three weeks. Mrs. Bryant was born in Southampton County and was in her 69th year. Her five sons and daughter, Mrs. Joyner, were with her when the end came. Surviving her are four daughters; Mrs. A.W. Howell of Franklin, Mrs. Annie Cobb of Petersburg, Mrs. J.E. Everett of Emporia, Mrs. T.J. Joyner of Capron; five sons, S.C. Bryant of Cary, N.C., E.A. Bryant and Hinton Bryant of Rosemary, N.C., Leslie Bryant of Portsmouth and Harry Bryant of Capron; fifteen grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. S.H. Simmons of Boykins, Mrs. Martha Applewhite of Portsmouth, Mrs. J.T. Rawls of Capron; six brothers, Frank Vick, J.B. Felts of Boykins. E.A. Felts of Capron, L.C. Felts of Sebrell, B.E. Felts of Branchville and C.B. Felts of Rosemary, N.C. Funeral services were held from the Capron Baptist Church where Mrs. Bryant had held her membership for 36 years, Monday at 3 o’clock by her Pastor Rev. W.L. Kersey, assisted by Rev. C.H. Fielding of the Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Capron cemetery, the active pallbearers being: Dr. J.N. Applewhite, E.W. Crichton, J.H. Nicholson, Parley Baker, Tom Story, J.T. Rawls and Ben Scarborough. Honorary, R.W. Simmons, R.L. Felts, E.C. Felts, Walter Joyner, A.B. Nicholson, J.H. Joyner. The funeral was largely attended and the casket was covered with a spray of lilies. Rosa (VICK; Mrs. Benjamin L.) (#57), Southampton Co., sheet 12B) gives b. May 1860. *Rosa's Death Certificate, #6801, gives b. 7 May 1861, daughter of ___ Vick & Rosa Aralia? Bryant. Her son Lewis Clinton Bryant ("L.C.," then of Cary, NC) was the informant. Her son Lewis' Death Certificate, #25261, gives her name as Rosa Olive Vick.
