Cobb, of the Franklin community, died Sunday morning, January 9, in Raiford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Nelson Bennett Gardner and Mrs. Emmaline Whitfield Cotton, of Southampton County, and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. James C. Daughtrey of Franklin; three nieces, Mrs. Fenton, Misses Doris and Lois Daughtrey; one nephew, Julian Harcum and one great-niece, Miss Evelyn Cobb, all of Franklin; three stepsons, Walter, Charlie and Percy Cobb of Franklin. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Holland Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. N.D. Blackman and Rev. R.D. Stephenson. The casket was covered with a pall of pink and white carnations with fern. Active pallbearers were: Henry Pruden, Fenton Cobb, Johnny Atkins, Marion, Gilmer and Robert Lee Harrell.
