Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Darden Battle and Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leroy Vaughan, Cecil Vaughan, Ashley Vaughan, Lawless Cobb, Robert Howell, Walter Beaman, James Edward Howell Jr. and Russell Cotton. Mrs. Cobb, 82, died Monday in Lynchburg General Hospital. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of William Emmett Cobb and a daughter of Jesse E. and Mrs. Margaret Cotton Gardner. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, William Allen Cobb of Lynchburg; a half brother, Jesse D. Gardner Jr. of Franklin, four grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
