Cobb of this town and a highly- esteemed and beloved Franklin citizen, died at her home in South High Street Sunday afternoon, February 14, in her 77th year after an illness of several months. She was the daughter of the late Frank M. Holland and Mrs. Virginia Brown Holland, her father, incidentally, being Franklin’s first postmaster. She was a devout member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of its mission organizations, and numbered a host of friends in the town and community. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Roger I. Beale, Mrs. W.A. Moyler and Mrs. R.J. Howell of Franklin, and Mrs. W.W. Miller of Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren; Mrs. Walter D. Hankins of Johnson City, Tenn.; W.W. Miller, Jr., of Knoxville, Tenn., Richard Cobb Miller, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Lieut. Roger I. Beale, Jr., of Camp Bowie, Texas; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the home Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. R.D. Stephenson, by the Rev. B.B. Bland of Portsmouth and Rev. Harry Wardell Backhus, III, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, in the presence of many friends of the family. There was a pall of white carnations, calla lilies and gardenias. Burial was made in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being: Henry Fitzgerald, Jno. C. Parker, Jr., Dr. Beaman Story, Wesley Beale, Edward F. Gilliam, J. Edward Moyler, Tony Cobb, W.H. Norfleet, W.T. Pace, Jr. and Frank E. Howell. Antoinette "Nettie" (HOLLAND; Mrs. RICHARD H.)
