All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BEATRICE TURNER COBB DREWRYVILLE - Mrs. Beatrice Turner Cobb, 58, well known resident of Drewryville, died early Thursday morning in Louise Obici Hospital, Suffolk, after an illness of several weeks. She was the wife of Charlie D. Cobb and a daughter of the late Norman and Mrs. Alice Ward Turner of Southampton County. She was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Union and Ladies Bible Class. Surviving besides her husband, are one son, Charlie D. Cobb, Jr., of Branchville; two grandchildren, one brother, Gilbert Turner of Capron; three sisters, Mrs. R.C. Gay and Mrs. L.H. Vick, both of Emporia, and Mrs. Alta Livesay of Durham, N.C., nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by her pastor, the Rev. Dalphon J. Thompson. Burial was in Drewryville Cemetery. Pallbearers were A.P. Pope, Robert Claud, J.T. Claud, Thornton Thomas, Allen Partridge, L.V. Claud, Dr. J.J. Grizzard and Edward Trice.
