COBB Charlie Everett Cobb, 77, prominent farmer, died at his residence near Drewryville on Sunday night, December 19. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Annie Ellis Cobb and a son of the late Robert J. and Mrs. Dora Fox Cobb. He was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church. Surviving are seven daughters; Mrs. Claude K. Barnes and Mrs. P.J. Mattox of Drewryville, Mrs. J.R. Carriker of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Z.V. Barrington of Norfolk, Mrs. W.H. Drewry of Franklin, Mrs. E.W. Smelley of Richmond, and Mrs. J.K. Snead of South Hill; four sons, R.E. Cobb of South Hill, C.D. Cobb and R.S. Cobb, both of Drewryville, and A.E. Cobb of Boykins; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Elliott of Drewryville and Mrs. Mattie Amory of Norfolk. Services for Mr. Cobb were conducted in Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, Drewryville on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. William Stinnett, pastor of Hebron Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. J.T. Cassell, pastor of the Drewryville Methodist Church. Burial was in the Drewryville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Brinkley, Robert Claud, Burton Drewry, Bruce Flowers, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, George Harris, Owen Johnson and Roy Ricks.
