FRANK MORRIS COBB

   Frank Morris Cobb, a well-known resident of Franklin and the community, 
where he had been a farmer for many years, died Sunday morning about 8 o’clock 
following an illness of several weeks.  He was 58 years old.

   Mr. Cobb was the son of the William M. Cobb and the late Mary Darden Cobb 
of Franklin.  He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Whitley Cobb; a son William M. 
Cobb, both of Franklin; four daughters, Mrs. J.C. Roberts of Aulander, Miss 
Mary Elizabeth Cobb of Richmond, Misses Margaret and Fay Cobb of Franklin; a 
grandchild, Roberta Cobb of Franklin; three brothers, Emmett, Henry and 
Linwood Cobb of Franklin, and three sisters, Mrs. William Cotton, Mrs. Herman 
Howell and Mrs. Herbert Beaman, all of Franklin.

   Services were conducted from his home Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by 
his pastor, the Rev. John Adkins Gray, assisted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of 
Franklin Baptist Church.  The casket was covered with a pall of pink rosebuds, 
lilies and white carnations and there was a large floral display.

   A quartette composted of Mrs. F.E. Howell, Mrs. J.J. Bradshaw, J. Edgar 
Weede and E.K. Brinkley sang "In the Hour of Trial" and "Abide with Me." 
Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery here.  The rites were largely attended.

   Pallbearers were John Bunch, J. Edgar Weede, Hunter Darden, Jack W. Holland, 
W.J. Roberts, R.H. Allen, J.W.B. Thompson and Dr. A.P. Cutchin.
